As the summertime fades into the snapshots you might've taken these holidays, and the loom (and gloom) of school draws closer, there is still some hope of fun despite all protests. We're still young and free, and if not so, at least still at heart.
Sun, surf and sand, who doesn’t enjoy the warmth, excitement and joy in the season of summer. Well, if this summer had anything to say, it was that Global Warming or rather Climate Change is actually happening. When has it flooded in Summer? Let alone, when do you see more rain than shine. Mother Earth is definitely dying and well, all I have to say, while I’m still going to drive my car, and keep that leaky tap unfixed, and accidentally put things in trash when they belong in recycling, and never turn off many computers and appliances, I will definitely try to reduce my carbon emissions much like everyone else.
Fitness First is actually free for teenagers in the holidays which I think, is a sure positive attitude towards the obesity problem that teenagers face. However, if my visits have taught me anything, it’s that never have I seen a fat teenager run. It’s probably due to the 9-11am schedule that they allow you in which any teenager can tell you is hard enough during school-time and impossible in the holidays. Suburban ones are better at 11-3pm but then again sleep is usually between 12-6am and 12-3pm during the holidays which means if you do the maths, you’re basically screwed as a teenager. Yes I found the usage of time in this paragraph particularly confusing especially after six weeks of brain-dead living and it’s kind of 2am.
Now I know I haven’t been writing and this is because of my productive holiday which I’ve done almost nothing until these two days before school. I’ve been having fun driving around the place and roughly know my way around. Even done a few illegal no right turns here and there, as well as a few bus zone drops, some speeding to try and catch a movie, almost died turning right into a busy street thanks to stupid GPS, drove in a 110 zone doing 90 because the RTA are stupid, and some no more than one peers after 11pm. The last two rules are the stupidest considering, if you have more than one peer, chances are, your the unlucky guy who picked the shortest straw and, friends are better getting dropped by you than possibly raped by a pedophile on some random bus in the Kings Cross. Also, going slower is definitely more dangerous than going faster. Not being sexist or racist, but asian women who drive 10km under the speed limit cause people not only to rage and beep, but also pose a danger in general, regardless of the limit. But seriously, driving 90 in a 110 zone is like running in a school zone with traffic. You’re about 20, the cars are 40, 20km/h difference. Yeah, you’re dead, big deal right? Case and point, let P Platers do 110 in a 110 zone much like ban asian women drivers and any other woman (my lawyer told me I better put in “and man” here) who goes under the speed limit.
So my point is, summer may be over, but climate change is in effect, therefore winter is summer and vice-versa so winter holidays just ended. As well, all that deep meaningful observant angst crap belongs in three things: some shit diary or equivalent (such as this blog), your head (along with the dirty images of your teacher) and on movies such as Yogi Bear (or rather put back in JT’s butt). I mean seriously, Justin Timberlake? Man you definitely got to get your Sexyback. A picnic-stealing bear may belong in 1958 America but definitely not today. Soon they’ll be writing about some crazy-ass fat dude with one personality, landing somewhere retarded. Oh wait, that’s every Jack Black movie. Movies for children really went down-hill since that silly remake of Willy Wonka starring Johnny Depp and I don’t mean the Tourist. Seriously, movies may be depressingly bad these days but Cheer Up Emo Kid! The world is still your oyster and you’re still young and free.
Trying to get my sleep pattern corrected because it’s actually 3am so bye.
P.S. check out a good song: The Naked and Famous - Young Blood
