Any person who enjoys movies will certainly have or should watch Dead Poet's Society. The famous scene: carpe diem: seize the day! Time is the only restriction upon humanity so spend it wisely. As one hilarious teacher would put it: “Don’t count the days, make the days count.”
Life is what happens when you plan. Sometimes the best plan is no plan not because spontaneity or that crap you see in romantic movies. No it’s the best because there are no upsets and everything thereon is a gift. Let’s face it, when has anything you planned gone according to plan anyway? That time you planned an early start and everyone showed up late. That time you wanted some amazing event to happen all holidays but instead everyone slept in and watched Letterman. These are pretty sad times because that’s what planning gets you. Remember the time you decided to drive to some hole for the hell of it. Remember the time you caught a random movie because you felt like it. Hell yeah, I know I did.
School has started and with it, comes responsible time management but let’s face it, those hours spent trying to teach anybody and everybody were for nothing. I’m still going to cram work last minute because that’s what works for me. Still, at thirty three degrees, school was actually mildly refreshing. The highlight was to see everyone you didn’t get a chance to see over the holiday break. Oh and definitely get set with piles of homework, the good shit as well, essays.
Seriously though, somebody close to my step-dad passed away just then. It may seem a little soon to bring this up but HIMYM recently did a plot where Marshall’s dad died and I felt this to be both ironic and symbolic of how little time we have. Seize the day my friends because before you know it, tragedy might strike and you’ll be wondering what you accomplished in your life. Perhaps it’s just that you were the best at beer pong, or the worst at dancing. At least you were the best at being bad or being the worst at being bad or the best at being good or the worst at being good. Don’t blame me, blame no sleep and early school.
I’m screwed tomorrow morning so bye.
