I think i've recently found another "chill-out" spot for myself. Not too sure if anyone else does what i do which is accumulate a list of locations around the place that allow positive zen (what some people call it) and escape the daily grind (Gloria Jeans product placement), and above all, simply relax.
Very few places make my exclusive list. This place is perhaps one of the most unconventional to make the list. The bench is awkwardly placed in a small blotch of green in a garden of concrete. Part of its beauty is that it represents the idea that despite being near the intersection of five busy roads, close to the fire station, it still breathes vibes of chill.
The sun is behind me, its yellow glow reflecting off speed limit signs. Warning - lame scientific jokes approaching... quite ironic since light is probably c-50 over the limit. In the distance you can barely make out the scene of a bay (i'm not talking Home and Away style of gay bay), most of it unfortunately blocked by a huge apartment block. Did i mention it is also next to a bridge over the railway tracks.
I think the most beautiful thing about it is the harmony between nature, man and machine - tamed in a serene sound, a parody of the city ambiance - tyres rolling seamlessly with the wind, the train rattling along with human's footsteps trailing, ignoring the one or two birds that rest on a slowly swaying evergreen winter tree. You can smell the aroma of stir-friend asian cooking (namely fried chicken god bless the inventor [probably some racist old white guy]), the sun shadowed by cars. There's even a weird bunch of mandarins on the bench sitting next to me. One dandelion swaying on the ground resting next to pasta-coloured vomit.
Honestly, its the weirdest thing that i actually like this place. Serving suggestion: best enjoyed with a mix-tape of cool and calm beats like Nujabes.
Trying to understand the concept of belonging so bye.
LOL? At first, i was thinking cool. then i got confused. and then weird at the end.
