Why i do love summer? - people always ask this question (actually they don't): "It's hot, sweaty and sticky; the sun burns and days seem to go on and on and on and on..." Well, there are many reasons i love summer, i mean after all have you seen 500 Days of Summer, Summer is clearly a very attractive babe.
Honestly though there are many legitimate reasons: being hot is better than freezing like a Popsicle, you can lose weight by sweating or since everyone is sweating, you won;t be embarrassed by the fact that you'd probably sweat in winter just standing, you can eat copious amounts of ice-creams without being judged and the sun is filled with vitamin D rays, and days last forever so you can party for ages in the day, and the night is much more precious.
Summer represents a a renewed sense of freedom - everything seems to glow and shine reflecting the sun's rays. People are far less depressed since their minds are now occupied with whinging about the heat wave. Honestly though, summer represents tanned hot bikini bodies or not so hot big middle aged men with beer guts with no shirt on but hey, everyone has a laugh in the warm sand.
I have always wanted to learn how to surf but of course, a complete lack of aquatic ability (considering that 50m freestyle feels like a 14km marathon) and a lack of basic co-ordination has always made me fearful so i've never honestly tried. I also never go swimming past the point where i can no longer stand up but despite all this i still love summer. Even though summer isn't for another month or so, the weather was so nice, i just had to write about it. As i write, the gentle leaves rustling and no-one around, while i stress out and cram some last minute English essays, my mind is drifting like the waves. So ladies, shave those legs, guys, work on some abwork, summer is coming.
Two days to go so bye.
