I have decided that it actually might be better to write in full grammatical sentences for many reasons including: that the half-yearlies are coming up soon and practising my rather crap style of writing with no commas (it's seriously for effect) does not improve my english mark, that it does actually kind of look stupid and is not "deep" and because change is rarely a bad thing. Oh yeah, plus the fact that people will read this shit anyway regardless of what or how i write it.
Today was the last day before the onslaught of school in the form of a week of half-yearlies and the nightly holy-shit-i-am-up-at-2am-doing-some-crappy-ass-revision cramming the week before the half-yearly. So as per usual, i tried to get some of my group out to well, quite simply, sieze the day (people might reference the Dead Poet's Society, a movie which i have never seen i.e. carpe diem). Pools of both sorts were visited along with net cafe throughout the day. The highlight of the day however were the discussions in the spa as well as during and after dinner. The topic that interested me were the problems everyone was going through, the goals they wanted to satisfy and the pros and cons of the actions in order to achieve their goals.
Have you ever drawn on a legal pad the pros and cons of certain actions? To be fair, this cliche has been used in many shows including How I Met Your Mother and thus is a fairly lame thing however i nonetheless did so. It gets you thinking and connects the dots in a way so that you can actually get an overview of the true motive behind any action. Highly recommended.
Everyone has problems and it's really how you deal with it that seperates people. For instance, i personally ignore problems and distract myself with random hobbies (what some people might call addictions) such as writing this blog, gambling and generally going out. Some people can't find random hobbies and need some other distraction, some people get goals so they have purpose and forget about the problems, and some people deal with the problems front-up instead of ignore them. Whatever it is, i believe the saying stays true: ignorance is bliss. Well, this is true for me at least.
As for goals, well nothing is sexier than a man (to be more politically correct this should be "person") with purpose. A (because that's all we think about, some would say sex-)driven man who knows what he wants in life, career and romance is always better in my opinion than someone who is unsure about what he desires. Recently a friend who shall remain nameless even though we know who he is, got a job, got interested in the opposite sex again and also has a list of goals which are all trully achievable. It must be said it makes you feel good when you see him have direction in his life. You kind of feel glad he's got his life together. Some people do work better without goals but at least know what you want because then everything else will fall into place almost as though the man upstairs sees a committed, seeking man and cuts him a break because he's working towards a goal.
Sorry for the long post but maybe when i speak in full sentences that have alright grammar and syntax, it must take more characters to speak my mind. I don't exactly have spell check so don't troll me because i actually have terrible grammar or whatever.
Chilling before the onslaught of work so bye.
THANKYOU for the grammatical awesomeness :)
ReplyDeletei would also like to say that unsaid friend should also DO 4U ENGLISH!
